International Scholar: Manyong Moon

Manyong Moon is a Research Professor at the Institute for the History of Science, Technology and Civilization, KAIST, Daejeon, South Korea. He is studying history of S&T in Modern Korea, especially history of biology and agriculture, history of scientific institutions, and S&T policies in East Asia. He is participating in a research project on rural development history in Korea and paying attention to rice farming technology and reforestation project. His books include A Documentary History of the Development of Modern Science in Korea (2004), and The Formation of Modern Research System in Korea (2010) written in Korean. He is writing a book on “Development of S&T under the Korean Authoritarian Regime” focusing on the relations between politics and S&T in developing countries.
