Conference Registration
With an outstanding SHOT program of academic sessions and special events, and the added attraction of one of Europe's greatest cities, SHOT 2012, 4-7 October, offers a rich opportunity for academic and social discourse. As usual, we encourage you to register early because SHOT tours are very popular and sell out quickly.
In response to the requests of many members, SHOT is offering online registration for the first time this year. On-line registration allows you to quickly and easily select all your activities, helping to ensure your priority for events with limited capacity. Our online system uses PayPal for secure payment processing; you may use either your credit card or a PayPal account, and you will receive in return an itemized receipt. Alternatively, you may register online, but opt to pay by check (in US funds, drawn on a US bank). Please make your check payable to the "Society for the History of Technology." In this case you will receive an itemized bill indicating the amount due and you will need to mail your check to the address listed below. Please note, if you choose to pay by check, your registration is not confirmed until SHOT has received and processed your check.
As in the past, if you register as a SHOT member, please be sure that your membership is current or you will be charged the non-member rate. If necessary, you can retrieve your membership number here or renew your membership here.
SHOT recommends that you register online. However, if you choose not to use the online registration system, the conference registration form is available here as a PDF. Please print it out, complete it, and either mail or fax the form to SHOT; we cannot accept email registrations. Please print clearly so that we can process your registration promptly. It is especially important that your credit card number, phone number, and email address are legible. If you are registering by mail and wish to use a credit card, you may provide your credit card information on the print form OR use PayPal to process your credit card payment to SHOT. When using PayPal to pay for a mail-in registration, please be sure to enter the SHOT registration email address: on the PayPal Website.
Again this year, we are using a Post Office box for printed registrations (and checks for online registration) rather than the usual SHOT office mailing address. The mailing address for registration forms and checks is:

If you do choose PayPal to process your credit card payment, please indicate "PayPal" in the payment area of your mail-in registration.
The deadline for early registration is 1 September 2012. If you are on the program, you must register by 15 September to guarantee your place; after that date, you will no longer be listed in the program. The SHOT office will confirm all mailed and faxed registrations by email and provide a printed receipt when you collect your conference packet in Copenhagen.
REFUND POLICY
Until 1 September 2012: A full refund will be given of the registration fee plus tours, meals, and any other costs.
Between 2-26 September 2012: 50% of registration fee. Banquet cost and SIG meals fully refundable. Tour refunds may be offered at the discretion of the SHOT office.
From 27 September 2012: No refunds.
