Airport Travel

Travel Between SeaTac and Downtown Tacoma
There are several options for delegates traveling between Sea-Tac International Airport and downtown Tacoma.
Private Transportation Options
Capital Aeroporter, (800)-962-3579. This service is offering SHOT members a special convention rate for travel between the airport and the Hotel Murano. For SHOT attendees booking individually, the one-way fare is $25.00 or $40.00 round-trip, the return portion is non-refundable after the first leg of the reservation is used. If two or more SHOT attendees make a joint reservation to travel together the special reduced group-rate is $30.00 for the party of two each direction.Capital Aeroporter also has reduced group fares for 3 or 4 persons for pre-arranged reservations. (ALL REDUCED GROUP RATE FARES MUST BE PRE-ARRANGED RESERVATIONS PRIOR TO ARRIVING AT THE AIRPORT OR DEPARTING FROM THE HOTEL AND RETURNING TO THE AIRPORT). Please note that round-trip reservations booked at the special SHOT rate are NOT REFUNDABLE. A variable fuel surcharge may also apply (currently it is $.75 per person each direction). Capital Aeroporter encourages passengers to make their reservations at least two weeks in advance. Payment by credit card at the time of booking is required. The company recommends that round-trip reservation be made so that the proper size and number of vehicles will be available for each group (those who show up without a reservation may find that a seat is not available). Call 1-800-962-3579 or 1-360-754-7113 or use their Website to book your reservation online.
IMPORTANT: When reserving by phone you must inform the Capital Aeroporter representative that you are a SHOT member. When reserving online, enter “SHOT” in the Frequent User Login box located at the bottom of the Reservations Webpage.
You will then see a customized page, where you can enter a payment method and make your reservation. After completing the reservations process you will receive a confirmation email.

At Sea-Tac, the Capital Aeroporter counter is directly inside DOOR 00.  To find the counter, stay inside the terminal building and walk beyond the international flight baggage area to the far south end of the terminal (the newest area of the airport).
Shuttle Express, (800) 487-7433. Another option is Shuttle Express van service. Walk-up customers are welcome but must wait for available seats and vans will run as they are filled. Travelers may also make reservations online. Shuttle Express is found by walking out of the airport via a pedestrian bridge to the attached parking garage, and going down one level to the company’s counter and the van departure point. Shuttle Express serves the Mariott Courtyard door to door from SeaTac, and also has a stop at the Tacoma Convention Center, just a block from the Murano. Due to state livery regulations, this service does not go to the Murano’s front door.
Harbor Towncar & Airport Service,
(253)-255-5665. Harbor’s Website specifies a $70.00 fare (plus 20% gratuity) for transporting up to 4 people and their luggage between downtown Tacoma and Sea-Tac. In addition, "reservations departing Sea-Tac require a 50% deposit which will be refunded if cancellation is made 12 hours or more prior to pick-up time." Call or see their Website for more information.
King Cab Taxi, (888)-904-7770. King Cab Taxi’s Website indicates they offers service between downtown Tacoma and the airport. Call them for additional information.
A number of rental car companies, including Hertz, Avis and National, serve Sea-Tac. See their individual Websites for details.

Alternately, rather than transferring to the 501 bus, travelers can catch the free Tacoma Link trolley at the Tacoma Dome. To do so requires going up a level (by steps or elevator) and walking about 75 meters to the trolley stop. The Link runs every 20 minutes from 5:30 AM to 7:00 AM and every ten minutes from then until 8:00 PM; back to every twenty minutes from 8:00 PM until 10:00 PM. The Link stops across the street from the Courtyard and a short block from the Murano. This is a good option for those without too much luggage. A map of the Link route is avalable online.
The total fare on trips with transfers may be less with an ORCA card. Check out the current SoundTransit Regional Express service schedule, or for more information on SoundTransit see the "Getting Around Tacoma" section of the SHOT Website.
