Competition for Best Graduate or Early-Career Panel at the SHOT Annual Meeting, Philadelphia 2017

Technology’s Stories announces a special competition for best graduate student and/or early-career panel at the 2017 SHOT annual meeting! We invite panels in which early-career or graduate student panelists make up the majority of participants to submit their panel papers by November 15, 2017. A prize of $1000 will be awarded for the best panel, to be shared among the graduate and early career scholars on the panel. Winning panel papers will be featured in a special issue of Technology’s Stories in 2018.

Eligibility
The competition is open to panels with at least two graduate students or early-career scholars. Early career scholars should be no more than two years past degree completion. Three or more papers constitute a panel; panels may limit their submissions to three if desired. All papers, regardless of authorship may be submitted, but only graduate and early career scholars are eligible to split the $1000 prize. Submissions must be included in the SHOT 2017 annual meeting program.

Rules for the Competition
Each panel submission should include a minimum of three papers and must be accompanied by a cover letter requesting participation in the panel competition. The letter must include the title of the panel, and each paper title, with author name, affiliation, title (as appropriate), and email address. Please also include a short cv for each member. The submitting authors will be treated as corresponding author.

The maximum length of an eligible panel paper shall be 8 double-spaced pages of text, not counting abstract, references, tables, and figures. Each of the submissions will be evaluated by Technology’s Stories Editor-in-chief (Suzanne Moon), Associate Editor (Con Diaz), and Assistant Editors Kera Allen and Mario Bianchini.
All submissions should be emailed to both Assistant Editors Kera Allen and Mario Bianchini (kera.allen@gatech.edu and mbianchini6@gatech.edu).

Deadline
The deadline for submissions is November 15, 2017.

If you have any questions regarding the competition, please contact Kera Allen or Mario Bianchini (kera.allen@gatech.edu and mbianchini6@gatech.edu).
