The School of International Service (SIS) at American University (AU) invites applications for a full-time, tenure-line position in Cybersecurity at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning August 1, 2023.
We welcome applicants whose research focuses on cybersecurity, international relations, and national security policy. Debates over cyberspace involve a range of issues, including intelligence, military strategy, bureaucratic politics, international organization, great power relations, economic security, crisis dynamics, and diplomacy. Cybersecurity also urges us to examine the roles that private firms and non-state actors play in world politics. We seek candidates who understand both the technical foundations of cyberspace and associated emerging technologies, as well as the broader policy context in which they reside.
Applicants should hold a PhD or the highest equivalent degree in a social science, STEM-related, or other related discipline by the start date, though ABD applications will be considered.
