Winners 2024 SHOT Joan Cahalin Robinson Prize
The SHOT Joan Cahalin Robinson Prize is awarded annually for the best-delivered paper by an individual who is making his or her first appearance at the Society’s annual meeting. The 2024 prize is awarded to two candidates:
- Constanza Marin (Universidad Catolica Del Norte), for “La transformación en la occupación del suelo rural y modo de vida en torno a la agrícultura”
- Daniel Arauz Nuñez (Western University, London Ontario), for “Margaret Mead and Machine Translation”
During the conference the Robinson prize committee – David Lucsko (Chair), Anna Åberg, Javiera Barandiaran, Amy Bix, Alex Magoun, Allison Marsh, Eden Medina, Alex Meyer, Mara Mills, Jamie Pietruska, Jose Ragas, Sonja Schmid, and Ellan Spero – reviewed the presentations of almost 30 candidates (in English and Spanish).
