IEEE HISTELCON Bonn (Germany) 30 September – 2 October 2025
HISTELCON is a flagship conference series of IEEE Region 8 held every two years and is dedicated to any aspects of the history of electrical engineering, electronics, telecommunications, computing, and their impact on social and economic development.
HISTELCON 2025 will be the ninth HISTELCON conference, being the first to be held in Germany. The conference official language is English, and all presentations will be oral. The conference will be hosted in the charming city of Bonn, Germany, in the Uniclub right next to the Rhine river in the center of the city.
Scope The conference is open to topics including, but not restricted to:
- Technology museums • Computers and microprocessors
- Device and system vulnerability
- Foundational research and Big Science
- Measurement systems and units
- Big corporations • Radio astronomy
- Humanistic studies and technology
Call for proposals
To accommodate different needs, the conference offers two submission deadlines. The early submission deadline is intended for participants who require a visa to travel to Germany or prefer additional time for travel planning. The regular submission deadline is available for those who need more time to finalize their paper or abstract and do not anticipate travel-related complications.
First deadline for proposals 14 April 2025, second deadline 25 May 2025.
