Full Session Proposals

A full session includes 3 or 4 papers with a dedicated session chair (welcome, moderate, keep time, manage chat) listed in the proposal, and an option to list a commentator.  If a commentator has a central role in the session (e.g., a titled commentary), we recommend including only 3 papers in the session.

To aid in assembling a full session, it is possible to list an Open Session (see the Open Sessions list on the SHOT Website, updated regularly) to gather colleagues with aligned interests.  If multiple full sessions are compiled based on an Open Session proposal, sessions may be organized into a “thread” (note this in the proposal title) consisting of two and at most three sessions. If accepted, the program committee will strive to schedule these as consecutive sessions.

Individual Session Proposals

Proposals for individual papers will be considered, but the Program Committee in general will give preference to pre-organized sessions (Full (traditional) sessions or History of Technology in Action).  Scholars are encouraged to propose Open Sessions to gather colleagues with aligned interests, or join an Open Session (see the Open Sessions list on the SHOT Website, updated regularly).
