Xiaolei Shi is a lecturer at the Institute of Science, Technology and Social Development at Harbin Normal University, China. In June 2003, he got the bachelor’s degree of mechanical designing and manufacturing automation in Heibei Polytechnic University. In June 2006, he obtained the master’s degree of Philosophy of Science in Donghua University. He received the doctor’s degree in history of science and technology in the Institute for the History of Natural Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences. His research interests focus on the history of technology, especially about the farming implements in ancient China. He has published more than 20 papers in the Studies in the History of Natural Sciences, the Chinese journal for the history of science and technology, etc.
