Sangwoon Yoo is an assistant professor at the Department of Humanities and Liberal Arts of Hanbat National University (South Korea). In 2019, he completed his PhD from the Program in History and Philosophy of Science, Seoul National University. His dissertation was on the history of the development of semiconductors in South Korea in the late 20th century. His research seeks to reveal the role of anonymous masses in the development of information technology industry. By unveiling the role of underrepresented groups, such as operators and maintainers in semiconductor assembly lines, he hopes to add to critical studies to aid understanding of the nature of innovation.
